Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as Tapping, is a powerful method that blends modern psychology with traditional Chinese medicine. EFT is an evidence-based intervention, which involves tapping on specific acupressure points on the body whilst focusing on the emotions or thoughts that are bothering you. EFT is based on the idea that unresolved emotions can create blockages in your body’s energy system. By tapping on these points, we can help to restore balance, clear emotional blocks and promote healing.
EFT works by tapping on key acupressure points that correspond to energy pathways (meridians) in the body. These pathways are similar to the ones used in acupuncture but without the needles. As you tap, you focus on a specific emotional issue, such as anxiety or stress, allowing the body’s energy system to rebalance and release the negative emotions tied to that issue.
